Service Academy Nominations
Each year I am pleased to be involved in the selection process of the United State Service Academies by nominating the most accomplished young people from Illinois for appointments to the US Military Academy, US Naval Academy, US Air Force Academy, and the US Merchant Marine Academy. These institutions instill the core values of honor, courage, and commitment, while the rigorous physical and academic standards challenge even the most accomplished individuals.
To begin the nomination process with my office, please contact my Service Academy Coordinator at (312) 886-3506 to request an application packet with information on completing the nomination process. Applicants must request an application packet by October 15th.
Completed applications must be returned to my Chicago office prior to October 31st.Any materials received in my Chicago office after this date will not be accepted, and the candidate will not be eligible for a nomination from my office.
Individuals interested in attending a Service Academy should contact the academy of their choice and complete a pre-candidate file during the spring of their junior year. For more information, I encourage you to visit the websites of each Service Academy:
Note: The US Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut does not require a nomination. If you are interested in the Coast Guard, please apply directly to theUS Coast Guard Academy
